Narrow Keys, Broad Minds,
No Boundaries
Stretto Piano Concerts (SPC) and The International Stretto Piano Festival were created to provide unique concert platforms which offer pianists a choice of key size. This serves the ever-growing demographic of global pianists who wish to play pianos with narrow, or “stretto,” keys. We have coined the generic term “stretto” for all makes of pianos with narrower-than-conventional keys.
The fourth annual festival will take place from May 25 - June 4, 2024 with public concerts around the globe and free, online concerts!
Influenced by her decades of work with Steinway & Sons and the enthusiasm and productivity of fellow pioneers in this field, Stretto Piano Concerts Founder and Artistic Director, Hannah Reimann, and the SPC team aim to fill the void on concert stages for innumerable musicians who wish to play challenging piano repertoire that they otherwise cannot play on wide, conventional keys. Helping to bridge the gender gap in the piano industry, our mission is to make piano playing more equitable and accessible for pianists with smaller hands, especially women. In addition to this, stretto pianos can help cure and prevent injuries and offer children, for the first time in over 100 years, piano keys that fit them. With our efforts, SPC is inspiring manufacturers to make new instruments that fit all hands.
